Nano-lipofilling: fat injection
Nano-lipofilling is already producing results in terms of skin quality, wrinkles and skin spots. It is also the only effective treatment for masking the discoloration of dark circles.
What is nano-lipofilling?
Stem cells and growth factors are extracted and injected into the surface of the face. This fat is treated in the same way as for conventional lipofilling: it is filtered, defibrosed and broken down to become highly fluid
This is truly regenerative medicine, and not just a new aesthetic method.
Technically, nano-lipofilling is similar to mesotherapy (injections into the superficial dermis), with one major difference: no foreign bodies or synthetic products are introduced into the patient’s body.
We’ve known for some years that lipofilling applied to the face has more than just a volume effect. Skin texture and quality improve over the months. This positive effect is linked to the presence of stem cells and growth factors in the fat. This observation has given rise to regenerative medicine, which Dr Hayot sees as a major turning point in 21st-century cosmetic surgery.
Indications for nano-lipofilling in eye surgery
Dark circles are caused by a thinning of the skin, which allows the blood vessels of the orbicularis muscle to show through. Nano-lipofilling thickens the dermis and eliminates this transparency.
Dr Hayot formally advises against the injection of hyaluronic acid into the dark circles, as the results are unsatisfactory. Contrary to popular belief, hyaluronic acid does not reabsorb when applied to the dark circles; rather, it swells and can cause bags to form.
Procedure for nano-lipofilling with Dr Hayot
- Obtain prescribed medication in advance.
- Stop taking anticoagulants and anti-inflammatory drugs.
- Make an appointment with the anaesthetist to ensure that
- the procedure is not contraindicated. A blood test should be performed.
- Fasting 8 hours before the procedure.
Nano-lipofilling takes place on an outpatient basis and lasts about an hour, usually under local anaesthetic.
Using a cannula, fat is removed from the abdomen, thighs or inner knees. The fat is rinsed, cleaned, defibrinated and filtered. The resulting compound is then injected into the eyelids. The skin tissue can then gradually regenerate.

Side effects of nano-lipofilling
Side effects are very rare. As this technique is a recent innovation, it is very important to use a trained, competent surgeon with the appropriate equipment.
