DOCTOR BERNARD HAYOT

AESTHETIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY

I have been practicing cosmetic surgery of the face and eyes for over 30 years.

My credo: naturalness

I work like an art restorer: I embellish without leaving a trace – the antithesis of the drawn faces, hollowed eyes and “surgical look” that we still see all too often.

Introducing Dr Hayot

I’m the pioneer in France of fat injection techniques: microlipofilling, which is crucial to the success of facelifts and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and nanolipofilling, which marks a revolution in aesthetic medicine thanks to my ability to regenerate the skin.
My passion for the use of fat in aesthetic medicine stems from long experience: I’ve seen countless unsatisfactory results with hyaluronic acid. With time and maintenance injections, the reworked areas eventually become oedematous and the face is deformed.
Where hyaluronic acid has failed to deliver the expected results, fat injection has proven to be the only real solution to facial aging. This conviction represents the logical deduction of my entire career.

Beautifying the eyes: a hyper-specialty

Specialized in eyelid surgery and trained by the American pioneers of oculoplastic surgery, I offer unique procedures calibrated for each patient. I advocate tailor-made surgery that respects the expressions and uniqueness of each individual. A reworked look shouldn’t be guessed at.

Delicate, meticulous and demanding, eye surgery leaves nothing to be desired. Trained in ophthalmology and microsurgery, I’ve been practicing this hyper-specialty since its inception, renewing my techniques (I only operate with a laser scalpel) and perfecting my approach (I perform “addition blepharoplasty”) to correct imperfections (bags, dark circles) and faithfully restore the eyes as they were 10 to 15 years ago. Beautification is possible at any age. The marks of time can always be repaired.

The turning point in lipostructure

After being one of the first practitioners in France to master the use of Botox and to perform laser eyelid surgery, which is less aggressive and more precise than the traditional scalpel, I was introduced to lipostructure in New York by its founder, Dr. Sydney Coleman. I quickly understood the importance of this new technique. For years, at cosmetic surgery conventions, we’d been shown photos of the profile, never of the face, simply because the results weren’t convincing: the faces were hollowed and drawn, in no way embellished or rejuvenated.

Facial ageing is not due to excess skin, but to the melting away of fatty volumes: a process that is easily demonstrated by observing photos of younger patients. My modus operandi is radically evolving: to beautify and regain the fullness of a younger face, we need to subtly fill in with lipostructure applied to the millimeter (“microlipostructure” or “microlipofilling”), never pulling out skin whose sagging or folds are not due to excess skin.

I improve on Dr Sydney Coleman’s technique by perfecting the treatment of fat (taken from the patient) and developing millimetric injection methods (microcannulas) to “sculpt” faces, restore eye volumes and achieve a very natural result.

Microlipostructure also represents a considerable advance in the treatment of dark circles. I formally advise against hyaluronic acid injections to fill these hollows in the lower eyelid: in fact, part of my work involves removing unsightly residues of hyaluronic acid injected by colleagues. The only lasting and effective method for filling dark circles is microlipostructure performed by an experienced practitioner.

My revolution in aesthetics: nanolipofilling

Nanolipofilling, which involves injecting stem cells and growth factors extracted from the patient’s own fat, is derived from lipofilling. So it was only natural that I should take an interest in it, and today I’m one of the few French practitioners with solid experience in this innovative field.

For me, nanolipofilling marks the arrival of a new era in aesthetics, that of tissue regeneration. From rejuvenation to in-depth skin regeneration, a new level has been reached. The results are exceptional not only in terms of skin quality, but also in terms of the pigmented dark circles that resisted all treatments, and we’re beginning to see other benefits too, notably in terms of hair regrowth.

Microlipofilling and nanolipofilling represent the future of cosmetic surgery and the treatment of facial aging. Of course, they do not exclude conventional techniques (Botox or hyaluronic acid injections, facelifts, blepharoplasty), but for me they have become essential methods for delivering the best results to patients.

My book: a new look at facial rejuvenation

The face-lift of the 1970s is a thing of the past! Gone are the taut faces, the frozen, inexpressive features and the overly raised eyebrows.

It’s now possible to rejuvenate, to erase imperfections, in small strokes, à la carte, zone by zone, using gentle, safe and non-traumatizing methods to achieve a natural, harmonious result that respects each individual’s personality.

    Dear Dr. Bernard Hayot,

I am a 28 year old woman with malar bags that have been bothering me for years. I would like to improve the look but I’m afraid of fillers as I’ve seen some bad results from this online. I am curious about the methods you mention here.

I was not able to book a consultation on DoctoLib so I wanted to send a message on here instead. Could I please get some more information about the prices of these procedures? Thank you very much.

    Best regards,
