Sagging skin

While the onset of skin aging is inevitable, it is entirely possible to delay, control and mitigate its consequences. A range of aesthetic medical solutions are available.

Dr. Hayot welcomes you for a consultation and takes the time to understand your needs and requirements. He will then be able to suggest the most appropriate treatment.

What is facial sagging?

Hyaluronic acid, elastin and collagen ensure the skin’s hydration, firmness and tone. With age, the production and quality of these skin components diminish.

In addition, the progressive loss of subcutaneous fat and muscular slackening accentuate these symptoms. The skin sags and loses elasticity, all tissues distend and the face appears flabby and wrinkled.

The face is particularly affected by sagging skin:

  • Excess skin on the upper eyelid
  • Dark circles deepen
  • Jowls appear on the oval of the face

The different causes of less firm skin

In addition to physiological aging of the skin, a number of other factors can contribute to the acceleration of the process.

Lifestyle habits such as smoking, unbalanced diet, pollution, prolonged unprotected exposure to the sun, and daily stress all have an impact on the skin’s evolution.

Significant weight variations encourage sagging skin.
Genetic predisposition also plays a role.

Facial sagging: Dr Hayot’s solutions

Depending on the particularities of each face, Dr Hayot will advise you on the different solutions available to you.

Hyaluronic acid injections

Hyaluronic acid is an excellent filler. It is therefore ideal for restoring lost volume. Injections of hyaluronic acid at different levels of the face (nasolabial folds, lips, bitterness folds, cheekbones and temples) improve skin elasticity and restore volume.

Ȧ Dr Hayot strongly advises against hyaluronic acid injections for dark circles. Indeed, the treatment of hollow dark circles calls for lipofilling or nano-lipofilling.

Ulthera®

Ulthera® technology is a non-invasive treatment for sagging skin.

The emission of ultrasound stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, for a dual preventive and therapeutic effect. The skin is tightened and cutaneous aging is slowed down.

Particularly recommended for sagging facial contours, Ulthera treatment delivers a lifting effect without surgery.

Tensioning wires

The application of tensor threads represents a real solution to sagging skin, without the need for cosmetic surgery. The skin of the face and neck is smoothed and tightened, and contours are redefined and harmonized.

Dr Hayot works with absorbable tensor threads, the effect of which gradually disappears after 18 months.

Laser treatment for sagging skin

The Fraxel fractional laser is indicated for the treatment of sagging skin. Thanks to the heat generated, elastin and collagen production is stimulated, resulting in a gradual tightening of the skin.

This laser treatment firms the skin and smoothes the lower eyelids.

The results of various treatments to slow sagging skin

Depending on your needs and preferences, the techniques chosen and the number of sessions required will vary. Aesthetic medicine makes it possible not only to reduce the signs of aging, but also to prevent and slow down their appearance.

Dr Hayot will explain the details of each technique during your initial consultation.

Without surgery, the skin is lifted and firmed, volumes are harmonized and the face is rejuvenated.
