What causes skin ageing?
Skin aging is the result of a combination of factors:
Prolonged exposure to UV rays
By triggering the formation of free radicals that attack skin cells, the latter no longer renew themselves, which, over the long term, thins the skin, dehydrates it and makes it more fragile.
Poor hygiene
Smoking, alcohol and a poor diet lead to a depletion of elastin and collagen reserves, responsible for maintaining firm, toned skin. Over time, this decline causes facial skin to age.
Hereditary factors
Genetics play an important role in the skin aging process. Indeed, some people experience premature sagging of the skin, for which there is no external explanation.
What are the solutions for tightening the face?
To restore the face’s natural youthful radiance, Dr Hayot focuses on restoring volumes that have sagged due to melting fat, rather than pulling the skin.
To achieve this, he uses lipostructure or targeted hyaluronic acid injections.
That said, certain areas continue to be subject to skin tightening:
The upper eyelid
To open up the eyes, Dr Hayot performs addition blepharoplasty, which involves removing excess skin from this area and filling in the eyelid at the same time. To guarantee a natural result, micro-lipofilling is the method of choice. Unlike hyaluronic acid injections, this technique gives a natural result, without making the eye look hollow.
The lower eyelid
To tighten the skin on the lower eyelid, lower blepharoplasty corrects excess skin without detaching the eyelid, avoiding the risk of a round eye that would detract from the harmony of the eyes.
When there is a malar pouch or ear pouch festoon, a submuscular lower eyelid lift is preferred to tighten the orbicularis muscle rather than pulling the skin.
The oval of the face and neck
Slackening of this part of the face is still treated today by facelift. For a natural result, a bi-plane facelift is performed on the oval and the neck. This allows the muscles and skin to be pulled simultaneously.
To tighten facial skin, there are solutions adapted to the area to be corrected.
