The stars’ secret to staying young without plastic surgery
Dr Bernard Hayot, a specialist in anti-ageing aesthetic medicine and facial rejuvenation surgery in Paris, has this to say on the subject: “Celebrities practice preventative aesthetic medicine, starting hyaluronic acid and Botox injections as early as age 30, to avoid the skin breakage that should have appeared over time!”.
Today, it’s hard to tell how old Sharon Stone, Demi Moore or Renée Zellweger are. Their faces are smooth and wrinkle-free, yet they’re all over 45…

Tensor threads: the new celebrity craze
The drawn, fixed features of the cosmetic surgery of the ’80s, the face-lifts that distorted the shape of a face and the collagen-inflated lips have disappeared from the red carpets. More and more celebrities are resorting to gentle, resorbable and biodegradable techniques that do not alter the shape of the face and give a very natural appearance.
Hyaluronic acid injections can be used to plump up the lips without the risk of rejection, fibrosis or inflammation.
Botulinum toxin is used to eliminate wrinkles in the upper third of the face, without freezing the eyes.
And finally, tensor threads are used to treat the sagging skin responsible for the formation of jowls and distension of the oval of the face.
Tensor threads: advantages, risks and benefits
Absorbable tensor threads first appeared on the American market a few years ago. The principle is simple: the plastic surgeon makes a few microincisions in the tissues to slide in poly-lactic acid sutures. The micro-cones on the sutures hook the tissue, and the expert touch of the aesthetic surgeon tensions and tightens the skin by hooking it to the sutures.
Second advantage: Tensor threads offer a dual action. In addition to the purely mechanical lifting effect, the poly-lactic acid that makes up the thread will, over weeks and months, offer a regenerating effect by acting on the deeper layers of the skin. The patient’s face gradually regains a smoother surface and a more youthful appearance.
Finally, the threads are fully absorbable: after 12 to 18 months, the effects fade and the threads are completely dissolved by the body, but in most cases, patients return to their aesthetic doctor for threading when the effect has worn off, to regain a younger, less wrinkled face.
How does the procedure work in Paris?
Dr. Bernard Hayot, a specialist in tensor threads in Paris, welcomes you to his practice for an initial consultation to analyze the indications for the placement of absorbable threads.
If you fit the profile (aged between 30 and 60, with sagging skin around the temples, forehead, oval of the face or neck, etc.) Dr Hayot will recommend the use of tensor threads, possibly in combination with a mesolift, botox or hyaluronic acid injections.
Caution: if the skin is too distended, the plastic surgeon may recommend a surgical facelift for best results.
First, the practitioner administers a local anaesthetic to the entry points of the tensioning threads to ensure maximum patient comfort. After 20 minutes, the threads are placed subcutaneously. This aesthetic procedure is quick and totally painless. Allow around 1 hour for the complete treatment.
There’s no danger, no need for further surgery, and no disocialization. You can get back to work as soon as the session is over!
