What are wrinkles?
Wrinkles are folds or breaks in the skin that appear on the face over the years. Largely the result of skin aging, they can begin to appear as fine lines around the age of 25. These are generally expression lines, such as the frown lines between the eyebrows, or the crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes. Then, as the years go by and our lifestyles change, the wrinkles become deeper and set themselves permanently in the skin of the face, like the nasolabial folds that gradually deepen.
What causes wrinkles to appear?
There are many causes for the appearance of wrinkles.
On the one hand, there are the internal causes, those that cannot be modified, such as genetics, skin type or ethnic origin, which influence the skin aging process.
Then there are the so-called external causes, those that can be acted upon to delay the skin’s aging mechanisms and the appearance of wrinkles. These include tobacco and alcohol consumption, unbalanced diet, stress, lack of sleep, insufficient skin hydration and exposure to UV rays.
How can deep wrinkles be filled in aesthetic medicine?
To treat deep wrinkles without surgery, there are several aesthetic medicine solutions.
Botox injection for wrinkles
Botulinum toxin injections are particularly suitable for treating expression lines, especially on the upper face. Botox is a filler that prevents repeated contraction of the muscles responsible for expression lines. Botox is therefore mainly used to treat expression lines and mobile areas of the face and neck, such as :
- Lion wrinkles;
- Crow’s feet wrinkles;
- Forehead wrinkles;
- Around the mouth;
- Chin and neck wrinkles.
However, this is not a permanent solution, and injections will need to be repeated at regular intervals to maintain the effects.
Tensor threads to treat wrinkled skin
Absorbable tensor threads enable non-invasive facial rejuvenation. In addition to their action on sagging skin tissue, tensor threads are effective in reducing the appearance of deep wrinkles in just half an hour, in the doctor’s office. What’s more, the procedure stimulates the skin’s natural production of collagen in the months that follow, offering patients a natural, gradual aesthetic result.
How can deep wrinkles be filled with cosmetic surgery?
When wrinkles are deeper, often at an older age, it is entirely possible to turn to cosmetic surgery to fill them. The first step, however, is hyaluronic acid injections, which can be used to treat nasolabial folds, cheek wrinkles, bitterness folds and all skin breaks.
Anti-wrinkle fat injections (lipofilling)
Lipofilling consists of injections of autologous fat to treat all facial wrinkles, in particular :
- Lion wrinkles;
- Crow’s feet wrinkles;
- Wrinkles around the mouth;
- Nasolabial folds;
- Neckline wrinkles.
Autologous fat, injected with extreme precision, naturally fills wrinkles for long-lasting results. Since the fat comes from the patient himself, side effects are extremely rare.
Anti-wrinkle lipofilling can sometimes be combined with other techniques to rejuvenate the face overall, such as volumizing lipofilling, blepharoplasty, filler injections or an oval and neck lift.
Nano-lipofilling for wrinkles
This technique involves injecting stem cells and growth factors to activate skin tissue regeneration. Nano-lipofilling naturally improves skin quality, particularly the appearance of deep wrinkles.
In the case of lipostructure surgery, it is quite possible in the operating room to use the fat removed to perform injections to treat frown lines, nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the mouth and décolleté.
