The benefits
This product has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid than other products in the same range, such as Voluma®. It offers many benefits:
- With very low hydrophilicity, the product absorbs little water but fills the dermis very well. Unlike other acids, the effect of tightened, smoothed skin is immediate.
- The side effects of hyaluronic acid injections are reduced. The risk of inflammation and of transient oedema after injection is lower.
- Beyond volume: hydration
Volbella® deeply hydrates the dermis. The lips are plumped and shiny, with a genuine glossy effect, as Volbella® acts like a balm. It redefines the lip contour and treats the corners of the mouth. - Being denser, Volbella® lasts longer: a single injection is effective for 12 to 18 months on average, compared with only 6 to 8 months for other acids.
- It contains a small percentage of lidocaine, a mild local anaesthetic that makes the injection gentler and more comfortable for the patient.
Despite its higher price, Volbella® is convincing for its quality, its effectiveness and its longevity.
Areas treated
Volbella® is highly effective on expression lines, and is ideal for the nasolabial folds, the contour of the mouth and the under-eye circles.
Injected lightly and superficially, it quickly fills the fine vertical lines around the mouth known as smoker’s lines. It also helps soften the marionette lines on the chin.
Combined with a Botox injection, this product erases wrinkles and a tired appearance durably. Even around the mouth, there is a very limited risk of transient paralysis or functional discomfort.
As a reminder: hyaluronic acid is derived from a sugar that occurs naturally in the body and helps maintain the volume and elasticity of the skin. Its natural production falls as we age, which is why injections are one of the most effective aesthetic treatments for maintaining the hydration and texture of the skin. The substance rebuilds facial volumes to counter the loss of fat.
The effects
The product is very well tolerated by the body and lasts for more than a year.
What are the side effects?
As with any injection, slight swelling of the treated area and a small bruise around the injection site may occur. These effects are transient and generally disappear within a few hours of the injection.
