What is lipofilling?
Lipofilling is a cosmetic surgery technique practised by Dr Hayot and proven worldwide. It involves removing fat from defined areas of the body, such as the abdomen, the knees or the inner thighs, and reinjecting it into areas of the face that lack volume, either naturally or as a result of skin ageing.
To work towards a harmonious result, lipofilling requires particular expertise and meticulous preparation of the face, which only an expert physician can provide.
Why have facial lipofilling?
A symmetrical face is a particularly sought-after feature. Over time, however, the shape of the face can flatten, making it look less youthful.
Facial lipofilling by Dr Hayot works on several levels:
- It restores facial volumes through micro-lipostructure
- It treats wrinkles by injecting fat as a filler
- It regenerates skin quality
- It treats dark circles under the eyes, alongside the other types of dark circle
- It fades the appearance of acne scars
- It supports hair regrowth through nano-lipostructure, which isolates stem cells and growth factors by filtering the fat

Lipofilling to fill hollow dark circles
Dr Hayot prefers lipofilling to hyaluronic acid injections for several reasons:
- Hyaluronic acid does not resorb under the dark circles
- Over time, hyaluronic acid swells, leading to the appearance of bags under the eyes
- Unlike fat, hyaluronic acid shows through as a bluish colour under the thin skin of the dark circle
Lipofilling and blepharoplasty
To correct a lack of volume in the eyelids, Dr Hayot performs lipofilling in the operating theatre during addition blepharoplasty. By correcting the hollow appearance of the eyes, the features are softened and the complexion instantly looks more rested.
Lipofilling and facelift
An expert in lipofilling, Dr Hayot performs this technique together with a cervicofacial lift to correct the hollow, wrinkled appearance of the neck, a consequence of skin ageing. Regenerating the skin of the neck and restoring volume to it gives a natural, harmonious result.
Note that when the procedure requires only a small amount of fat, it is performed under local anaesthetic, as it is simple and painless.
Why does Dr Hayot prefer lipofilling?
There are many reasons to opt for facial lipofilling:
- Injected fat is a natural product, taken from our own cells. Lipofilling therefore gives natural results, with a very limited risk of rejection by the body.
- The fat injected during lipofilling is fully incorporated into the tissues, both under the skin and in the muscle. There is therefore a very limited risk of the product moving.
- The result is natural and harmonious, unlike hyaluronic acid injections which, in the cheekbones, can leave a sort of unsightly ball that betrays the injection.
- Lipofilling fills hollow areas without swelling them, whereas hyaluronic acid acts like a sponge, taking up water from the body and making the face swell unattractively.
- By injecting stem cells and growth factors, lipofilling sets off a process of skin regeneration that improves skin quality and fades certain blemishes, such as pigmentation spots.
